About This Spot

Stepping into Ting's Tamarack Tap, you’re welcomed by a genuine slice of Lake Tomahawk charm—a cozy, unpretentious spot where the hum of conversation and the clink of glasses create an easygoing rhythm. It’s the kind of place where time seems to slow just enough for neighbors and visitors alike to settle in, share a laugh, and savor the comfort of familiar company.

The interior carries a down-to-earth warmth, accentuated by touches that nod to the area’s natural beauty—photos of local wildlife and a playful chorus of birdsong add a gentle character to the space. It might not be polished to perfection, but its honest atmosphere invites you to relax and enjoy without pretense. The air buzzes softly with a mix of contentment and casual cheer, a gathering spot where attentive service quietly enhances the experience without ever rushing it.

Food here feels like a thoughtful nod to classic American fare with a hearty, home-style edge. Plates arrive with a sense of satisfaction, whether it’s the tender ribs that draw people back again and again, the perfectly battered cheese curds loved by longtime locals, or the comforting warmth of a well-seasoned soup or pasta dish. The menu dips into a familiar, approachable range of flavors that invite sharing and lingering over good conversation—perfect for both a relaxed dinner after a day exploring the woods or a casual catch-up with friends.

Beyond the food, the drink selection complements the straightforward vibe—modest but well-chosen beers that pair effortlessly with the meal and the mood. It’s a friendly retreat from the everyday where you can enjoy a quiet evening without the buzz or clamor of bigger tourist spots.

Ting's Tamarack Tap feels like a place that’s quietly woven into the fabric of its small town, a go-to spot that welcomes you as much for its familiar faces as for its dependable food and unhurried atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping in for a beer battered cheese curd or settling into a prime rib dinner, it’s a subtle reminder that comfort and genuine connection often come in the simplest settings.

Great small rural restaurant and bar. The ribs were excellent and the wild rice was awesome. They have good selection of beer.

Cute little place, close to our "up north" home. Servers were very nice, and we had amazing cheese curds as an appetizer. Fish fry cod and walleye were delicious. Would definitely return.

First time customers- good atmosphere, music is not so loud that you couldn't have a talk over dinner. The food was good. Had the ribeye and baked potato and my husband had the Alfredo pasta with Cajun chicken. My husbands only complaint was his pasta could be warmer. Tried their homemade cheese curds. They were good and not sopping wet with grease and not overly battered. Waitresses were attentive and kept the drinks refilled but they were working their butt off. Went to the bathroom and initially I found it to be decent and clean. I had a little trouble getting the door lock to line up to lock. I found the bathroom floor to be sticky but no debris, but a clean toilet and clean solid seat. Can't wait to return to try out some other dishes.

Great food here. Had salmon a few times and it’s always a cut above standard bar and grill food. Worth the stop.
